Suite Living

  • A unique design plan was developed and implemented in order to meet the client’s desire for a rental suite addition on an irregularly sized and shaped lot.
  • The addition not only blends with the existing home and environment, but also within the client’s limited budget.
  • Lot size, shape, and elevation combined with limited budget and mandated bylaw outdoor space requirements added to design challenges.
  • The suite’s roof or deck area not only created additional recreational space but also permitted compliance with bylaws.
  • The suite is all-electric power, reducing energy consumption and providing a clean energy source.
  • Ductless heat pump units, electric baseboards, an electric hot water tank, energy-efficient windows, Energy Star appliances, LED potlights and fixtures, R-22 walls, R-40 ceiling batts, and an EV charger were used in the renovation.
  • Slotted oak wall panels used in the living room and bedroom create a warm, modern appearance.
  • The renovated suite’s roof or deck area addresses lot size issues and provides pool and backyard access.
  • Decks are integrated with the suite addition, permitting easier access to the pool and backyard and preserving the natural ambiance of the backyard.
  • The exterior color scheme matches the existing house colors
